Veneto is a region located in the North Italy, a perfect land where you could spend your holidays in a seaside resort or also in mountain. The regional capital is Venice and other important cities are Belluno, Padua (Padova in Italian), Rovigo, Treviso, Verona and Vicenza.

Venice is a city that faces on the sea and it surrounded by ship canal instead of streets. The city offers a lot of entertainments to tourist that each year come to visit; there are beautiful sights such as San Marco square, the Basilica of San Giorgio Maggiore, Palace of Ca’Pesaro, Palace of Ca’ Rezzonico, Ducal Palace and many others; in addition you could visit the museums of this city like the Museum of Oriental Art and the International Gallery of Modern Art of Venice. The city of Vicenza is characterised by beautiful hilly landscapes, but you could also go to the renowned mountain resort of Asiago. There are many sights and artistic beauties like the Palladian Basilica, Chiericati Palace, the Olympic theatre and Villa Capra known as the Rotonda.

Veneto is a region frequented from both families and young people, the first ones will find comfortable and equipped hotel facilities where spend their holidays, while young people could have a lot of fun by going in many nightclubs and staying in seaside resorts like Bibione and Caorle.
If you are also gourmets, you could taste excellent dishes in one of many restaurants of the region; there you will find tasty dishes like Risotto with luganega (Italian thin pork sausage), Sardines in saor (saor means flavour in Venetian dialect, a sort of sauce based on vinegar, raisins, pin nuts and spices) and to drink there are wine of unmistakable flavour like Bardolino or Cabernet.

Veneto was a land conquered by many populations like Longobards and Romans that had a great influence on the architecture of monuments and buildings of this land.
Passing the years this region took a significant role in the Italian economy due to the presence on its land of important industries.
