Friuli Venezia Giulia is a region located in north-eastern Italy; its land extends over many kilometres and touches both the Adriatic Sea and Austria. The regional capital is Trieste and the other important cities are Gorizia, Pordenone and Udine.

Trieste is a resort well-known for its port, in which merge the ships to and from Turkey. Here you could also visit many museums where works of inestimable value are preserved, some of the most famous museums are, for example, the “Galleria d’Arte Moderna”, “Museo d’Arte Orientale”, “Museo Postale” and “Museo del Mare”. Gorizia is known for its beautiful nature reserves that characterised this area like the one of “Piuma” or the other one of “Plevissa”. Pordenone is a very nice city where there are two great sights to be visited: the “Museo Diocesiano” and the Church of San Giorgio; and do not forget to go to the city of Udine and visit the majestic Castle and the Tower Clock, two buildings that go back to 1500.

Of course, Friuli Venezia Giulia has not only these entertainments; tourists who love the sea, can spend their wonderful holidays on its coastline and staying in one of many hotels of the renowned sea resort such as Grado and Lignano Sabbiadoro. Tourist facilities that are always trying to offer to their customers the best services and that will be entirely at their disposal. Whereas for tourists that are lover of the mountain this region has ski facilities in which they could spend their beautiful weeks’ ski holiday or to hike among the nature.

Friuli Venezia Giulia offers for sedentary tourists and lovers of good taste delicious first courses, you will be drooling when you will taste fish-based dishes or the San Daniele ham. Of course, this region is well-known throughout the world for its excellent wines, two of them are Carso and Chardonnay, respectively a red and a white wine.

This is a region that was formed only at the end of the Second World War and precisely in 1947 after the Paris agreement; this feature managed Friuli Venezia Giulia to develop four languages: Italian, Friulian, German and Slovene. The economy of this region is largely based on tourism and industry becoming one of the most important regions of Italy.
